Empowering the Next Generation: soFLy Southern Tropics Hosts
Girls in Aviation Day Events across Doral, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — soFLy Southern Tropics, a nonprofit chapter of Women in
Aviation International (WAI) representing South Florida to the Islands, is set to host three inspiring Girls in Aviation Day (GIAD) events in Doral, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami. These events are meticulously designed to kindle the passions of the upcoming generation of female aviators. Whether you’re attending the Fort Lauderdale or Miami event, both promise a thrilling day of aviation exploration, captivating activities, and boundless inspiration for young, eager minds.
For any girl with dreams of soaring through the skies, Girls in Aviation Day is an event you won’t want to miss! Witness captivating airplane demonstrations, immerse yourself in interactive activities, and explore a
variety of sponsor booths that showcase the exciting world of aviation. Attendees can look forward to exciting giveaways that capture the spirit of flight and adventure.
Girls in Aviation Day is a free program offered to local girls ages 8 to 17 and provides a unique opportunity to delve into the endless possibilities of the aviation industry. Discover the magic of flight, unlock new horizons, and envision a future in aviation that knows no bounds.
“The program is free for participants and their chaperones, added Jessica Mathews, soFLy Chapter President.
All three programs kick off an annual series of Girls in Aviation Day events within Broward and Miami-Dade
counties, reaching approximately 400 young girls combined. We are proud of the dedication our committees and sponsors have demonstrated thus far. Their contributions will go a long way for the girl’s considering aviation as they make their college and career plans.”
Running the program as a series has supported the cause in various communities. Our upcoming Girls in Aviation Day in Fort Lauderdale is scheduled for Saturday, September 23rd. We are in good hands with our gracious host venue, Sheltair Aviation- which hosts various GIAD events throughout their properties.
